Recently we were approached by one of our approved contractors, Mr Noel Stenson from Manchester. He was carrying out a basement conversion project on a property in the area of Fallowfield.

It is usually the case that we report to you regarding waterproof membranes which have been used below ground as part of a basement conversion project. This article however is going to talk about waterproof membranes being used at ground level.

Recently Basement Living was called out to go and take a look at Plymouth Cricket Pavilion which was in fact a brand new building it required new build waterproofing. The pavilion offered the local community a place for both young and older members to play cricket both competitively and for fun as well!

It is always nice when Basement Living can go back and view completed basements which we have been involved in as a basement conversion project. This was the case when we went to Hale, Cheshire to see what Altrincham Basement’s Bobby Durkin had managed to achieve.

Again this was a basement conversion project carried out by our approved basement contractors Altrincham Basements and Cellar Conversions Ltd. This particular basement conversion as pretty detailed as it would compromise of a TV cinema room, Lounge, Bathroom, Bedroom and a Kitchen area.

A damp basement may well be adequate for you to use as a junk room and for storage but in reality it is not suitable for spending all that much time in. Many homeowners are fighting a battle for more space but they go looking in the wrong place for it! They look upwards and outwards rather than simply going down. Basement conversions are becoming more and more popular especially in the areas of London and Manchester.

Basement Living has been extremely busy over the last few weeks! Yes we know it has been Christmas and New Year but that hasn’t stopped us. We were devastated to receive a call from a family who had experienced the worst Christmas ever after their basement conversion flooded leaving them in a real mess.
