Wykabor 10 Preservative Biocide
Aqueous boron based wood preservative and masonry biocide.
- Suitable for treatment and prevention of wood boring insect attack and fungal attack on wood, including common furniture beetle (Anobium punctatum).
- Suitable for prevention of fungal attack in sound timbers following removal of sources of moisture.
- Suitable for eradicant treatment of fungal attack in timbers, in conjuction with Wykamol 40.
- Suitable for control of dry rot (Serpula lacrymans), moulds, algae, mosses and lichens on masonry.
- Good penetration.
- Low odour.
- Non-flammable.
- Suitable for application by brush, immersion or coarse spray.
- Active ingredients: Benzalkonium chloride, Disodium octaborate.
- COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) Regulations 1999 apply to the use of this product. Consult supplier.

Standard Product Features
Preparation:
– General:
- Thoroughly clean timbers using stiff brush and vacuum.
– Existing timber, insect attack:
- Check structural integrity of timbers. Remove and replace structurally unsound timbers.
- Remove paint and other surface finishes which might inhibit absorption of Wykabor 10.
– Existing timber, fungal attack:
- Eliminate source of dampness and allow timbers to dry before treatment.
– Existing masonry, organic material:
- Physically remove growth before treatment.
Application:
– Existing masonry, dry rot:
- 115 mm walls: Apply by brush or spray, one face.
- 230 mm walls: Apply by brush or spray, both faces.
- Walls thicker than 230 mm: Drill at 225 mm centres for low pressure injection or gravity irrigation.
– Existing masonry, control of organic material:
- Initial application by brush or spray. Remove dead growth. Second application by brush or spray.
Decoration:
- Treated timbers can be overcoated when dry.
- Treated masonry, interval before plastering (minimum): 48 hours.
